What exactly does Perfectionista do?

In the broadest sense, I can help you get your life in order. This can include:

Rearranging spaces in and around your home (living room, shed, attic, children’s rooms, etc.). This can, for example, be done by looking at your home furnishings, helping you tidy up rooms, furniture, clothing, and toys. Helping you organize your (digital) administration, computer files, and collections. Organizing a (new) home, when changing living situations (e.g. due to illness or disability) or when merging 2 households into 1.

I can also help you and your children develop skills that make your lives easier. I can provide you with tools to learn how to use your time more effectively, create schedules (including homework schedules for children, etc.), improve your financial management, and manage hoarding tendencies.

Of course, the above are possible examples. Please feel free to contact me if your specific situation is not listed.

What sets Perfectionista apart from other organizers?

My background as a PGB care provider means that I am well-versed in applying the right options for your environment and yourself. My approach, combined with my professional organizer training, allows me to provide tailored solutions for each client.

How do I get started?

You can reach me by phone or WhatsApp at 06-23205643. You can also fill out the contact form and I will contact you.

Do I need to tidy up before the intake interview/first session?

No. It is not necessary to tidy up beforehand. In fact, it’s better not to, so that I can get a good picture of your situation as it is. This is the so-called “baseline measurement”. Based on this, I can create a plan that best meets your wishes and needs. You may experience feelings of shame about your living environment, which is a common observation. I assure you that this is absolutely not necessary. When I come to your home, I look at the possibilities, not the obstacles.

What do sessions with a professional organizer look like?

Sessions are typically divided into blocks of a few hours, spread over a few weeks, to get the most out of these sessions. Since the wishes and possibilities of each client differ, we carefully plan them. This way, we can keep track of the progress made and you can put what you have learned into practice between sessions and make it your own. Together, we achieve the best possible results.

How long does it take to organize everything?

Probably less time than you initially think. Each space is different, and each client is different as well. It depends on your wishes and needs, but also on how quickly you can make decisions. I try to make the best possible estimate of your situation and the time frame, but this may be shorter or longer due to circumstances.

Do I have to throw things away?

That decision is entirely up to you. When items hinder your daily life and get in the way of achieving your goals, there is a good chance that these items will find a new owner. You are and remain the one making the decisions. Items do not necessarily have to be thrown away/recycled, they can also be donated or even sold. If you decide to get rid of items (in any way), for whatever reason, I can help you find the best place for them.

I am afraid that I have hoarding tendencies/am a hoarder, or I know someone with hoarding tendencies/hoarding. Can you help with that?

Absolutely. If you suspect that this is the case, I am proud that you have taken the first step by coming here and reading this. Although I am not a therapist/psychologist who can diagnose “hoarding disorder,” I can certainly support you in taking a step in a different direction. I can and would like to support you in this. The state of your living environment is often a reflection of your inner world. By working together with you to get to the core of the problem, we can work towards lasting peace in your life and living environment. There is often multidisciplinary support available for people with extreme hoarding tendencies, all aimed at helping you (such as Housing Associations, Municipalities/PGB, General Practitioners/Psychologists/Mediators or Administration). Please contact me.

Can you help me make decisions about donating or throwing away items?

Yes. When we have an intake conversation, and during our coaching sessions, I will guide you in making decisions that improve your living environment. I can also make a good assessment of which items are best suited for a new life (charities, thrift stores, recycling, etc.). This will always be done in consultation with you.

Do I need to be present while you organize?

In most cases, yes. We start with an intake conversation about your wishes and goals, and then we work together. Many decisions often need to be made about the (emotional) value of things, what you still want to keep or use. Therefore, I cannot decide for you what can be discarded and it is fastest when we work together. Only when the intention is very clear during the intake conversation can I work quickly and independently for you. Feel free to contact me to discuss the possibilities and your wishes.

Can my children be present during the organizing?

It depends on the situation. If the situation requires it, children can be present (for example, when we work in their room or shared spaces, such as a child’s room or garage). Although I love children, it is desirable that they are not present in cases where they cannot contribute. This way, we can focus entirely on achieving the goal. There is always a solution for every situation.

Do you guarantee my privacy?

Absolutely. Discretion and privacy are of the utmost importance. You can be assured that I will never share your information with third parties without your specific permission. In the event that I need to explain your situation to clarify my activities, you will not be identifiable as a person. If there is a collaboration (with, for example, the municipality, your healthcare provider, etc.), we will adhere to the AVG. The same applies to correspondence, notes, and recordings, if applicable.

Can you also organize before my house goes on the market?

This is possible. If it is time to sell your house and you want to have photos taken of your house, it is nice that your house looks as good as possible. After all, you want to sell the space, not the stuff. You can contact me to discuss the possibilities.

Do you ask for  travel expenses?

Yes, starting from 20 kilometers outside Steenwijk, I ask for 0.19 cents per kilometer driven.
