Small steps lead to great progress.

As a professional organizer, I often hear from people that they feel stuck in their cluttered environment and have no idea where to start.

I can understand that this can be overwhelming and the idea of organizing everything at once can be discouraging. But what if I told you that doing a little bit each day is also progress?

We often have the notion that organizing is a big and time-consuming task that requires a lot of effort and energy.

But that’s not always the case. By doing a little bit each day, you can make significant strides in organizing your surroundings. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and it doesn’t have to happen all at once. The key is to start and be consistent.

For example, let’s say you spend five minutes each day decluttering a room in your house.

Five minutes may not seem like much, but over the course of a week, that’s already 35 minutes, and in a month, it’s over two hours! By doing a little bit each day, you build momentum and create a habit of tidying up and organizing.

It’s also important to realize that organizing is not just about getting rid of stuff, but also about creating a system that works for you. This means thinking about where you store your belongings and how you organize them, so you have easy access to the things you need. By creating a system that works for you, organizing becomes easier and less time-consuming.

Another way to do a little bit each day is by breaking tasks into smaller pieces.

For example, if you want to declutter your medicine cabinet, start by sorting the medications by type and disposing of those that are expired. Do this in steps and spread the task over a few days, instead of doing it all at once. By breaking the process into smaller chunks, it becomes less overwhelming, and you’ll stay motivated to keep going.

So, remember that doing a little bit each day is also progress.

It doesn’t have to be perfect, and it doesn’t have to happen all at once. By being consistent and creating a habit of tidying up and organizing, you’ll eventually notice that your environment becomes more organized and peaceful. And as a professional organizer, I can help you create a system that works for you and guide you in organizing your surroundings. Get in touch with me, and let’s get started together!
